Governor Ralph DLG. Torres and Lt. Governor Arnold I. Palacios received on behalf of the CNMI a donation of 100,000 surgical masks from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan).

As part of its “Taiwan can help, Health for all” humanitarian assistance, the CNMI was among several United States jurisdictions to receive this donation to support ongoing COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.

Local Taiwanese resident. Davidqua Ch, was happy to see the CNMI recieve this gift exclaiming, “Wow it’s from my hometown!”

Another resident, Marie Salas-Igitol, couldn’t help but praise Taiwan and our local leaders, “Huge THANK YOU to Taiwan! ? You know it when our Leaders are doing a great job. Thank you both for doing your everyday best in keeping us all safe!”
